ENNIS TRAD FESTIVAL

The town of Ennis will be the host to the hundreds of musicians, singers, dancers and revellers who swarm in on the county for the 16th annual Ennis Trad Festival between 5th and 9th November 2009.This year’s event takes place in almost every venue in the town of Ennis and is a non-stop intensive programme of free day and night sessions with afternoon, evening and night-time concerts, recitals, singing, workshops, presentations, CD launches and the ever popular Trad disco.
The festival is officially launched on Thursday 5th November by Aine Hensey followed by a concert with local Clare band Moher. The late Thursday night festival concert will feature Manchester born banjo player Angelina Carberry with her father Peter Carberry and Paul Meehan.

Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queens in association with BallyO Promotions are delighted to announce an all-star night of traditional music to savour.

The electrifying trad quartet of Máirtín O’Connor, Cathal Hayden, Séamie O’Dowd & Jim Higgins are joined by Iarla Ó Lionáird, lead singer for the Afro Celt Sound System; the aggressively infectious Lúnasa (“the hottest Irish acoustic band on the planet” Irish Voice); and Líadan whose exquisite and beautifully ethereal harmonies are reminiscent of an early Clannad.

Denis Ryan to host opening show of Celtic Colours International Festival
