Réalta Album Launch – Open The Door For Three

‘Youthful, energetic, stellar music, from one of Ireland’s finest bands!’– Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (Altan).

Belfast based traditional group Réalta are set for international success with the release of their debut album Open The Door For Three. Featuring Conor Lamb and Aaron O’Hagan on duelling uilleann pipes and whistles alongside Deirdre Galway on guitar, bouzouki and vocals, these three musicians have produced an exciting, unique and uplifting recording which belongs in the collection of any fan of traditional Irish music.

Having honed their skills performing with the internationally respected group Craobh Rua, Aaron and Conor know how to arrange beautiful music and entertain a crowd. Deirdre completes the band with a fresh approach to singing and traditional accompaniment. While still a young band, Réalta have already proved their ability when it comes to delivering great music. This was recognised at Celtic Connections 2012 where they were presented with the prestigious Danny Kyle Award. Additional highlights for the group include touring in Germany and Switzerland alongside legends Altan, as well as headline performances at festivals in Scotland and The Netherlands. The album will now be gratefully received by those who have already heard Réalta perform live.

Open The Door For Three treats the listener to an enchanting mix of traditional dance music interspersed with the occasional song and air. The tunes are carefully selected and a youthful curiosity paired with a strict attention to detail is evident in the musical arrangement. Flute player extraordinaire Brendan Mulholland and bouzouki great Micky McCluskey feature as guest musicians on a number of tracks and add an extra dimension to the recording. To apply the finishing touches, the album is expertly mixed by fiddle player Dónal O’Connor and presented in a package full of information about the tunes contained within.

As a live band, Réalta delight audiences with the enthusiasm, energy and passion they bring to traditional Irish music. Now this is available to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
