Fiddler Aoife Nic Cormaic kicks off Autumn season of Gael Linn’s ‘Bewley’s @ 6!’
Dublin fiddle player and composer Aoife Nic Cormaic will kick off the Autumn season of ‘Bewley’s @ 6!’ on Tuesday, 24 September ! Gael Linn have organized this series of musical evenings in the historic Bewley’s Café Theatre on Dublin’s Grafton Street since 2008.

Born and raised in Dublin, Aoife was first introduced to the fiddle in primary school and has been playing ever since. A regular player at music sessions in her native city, she has performed internationally with musicians including Kíla, Aoife Ní Fhearraigh and Phil Callery. As well as being a musician, she has made television documentaries for TG4. Concerto Caitlín Maude, which she wrote, directed and scored, won the IFTA for Best Irish Language Television Documentary in 2005 and also won Gradam Chumarsáide an Oireachtais. This was followed in 2006 by Aisling Gheal Uí Riada, a tribute to Seán Ó Riada. She also holds an MA in Traditional Music Performance from DIT ( 2011 ) and works as a radio producer in RTÉ.

She launched her debut recording, Cuas na bhFáinleog/The Holloow of the Swallows in January of this year, and she will play a selection of her original compositions from the album at Bewley’s @ 6! on Tuesday, 24 September. She will be accompanied on the night by musicians Frank Tate ( bouzouki ), Steve Larkin ( fiddle ) and Kevin Murphy ( cello ), who also played on the CD.
