Two Bursaries to Meitheal 2007

The Joseph Browne Spring School of Traditional Music is offering two bursaries (value €600 each) to enable young musicians from counties Galway and Clare to attend Meitheal Residential Summer School in July 2007 in Limerick. The following conditions apply:

1. Applicants are invited to submit a written presentation entitled ‘Me and My Music’. The presentation should include an outline of the applicant’s musical journey: e.g. my past musical experiences, musical influences, important people in my musical life, what music means to me now and where I see my music taking me in the future. Applicants may include musical achievements to date and any other relevant information.

2. The presentation may contain up to 1200 words. It may be typed or handwritten and may include photos or other items of interest.

3. Applicants for the Meitheal bursary must submit a recording of their own performance on tape or CD.

4. Applicants must be aged 13 or over.

Three bursaries to the Joseph Browne Spring School of Traditional Music ‘08

1. Three Bursaries are available to attend the 2008 Joseph Browne Spring School of Traditional Music (Feb 14th-16th). Applicants are invited to submit a presentation entitled ‘Me and My Music’ as above.

2. The presentation may contain up to 800 words and is open to children of all ages. A recording is not required.

3. Judging will take place under 3 age categories;
7 - 10yrs, 11- 14yrs, 15 - 19yrs

All Applicants should send their presentation to the Joseph Browne Spring School of Traditional Music, Cnoc Maol, Crusheen, Co. Clare, on or before Wednesday, May 9th, 2007 with Name, Address, Contact Number and Age.
