CARLINGFORD LOUGH CELTIC ARTS FESTIVAL

This year sees the inaugural Carlingford Lough Celtic Arts Festival: a cross-border festival dedicated to showcasing the rich varied celtic cultural heritage of the Carlingford Lough area of comprising South Down, South Armagh and North Louth.

Events will take place both sides of the border, centred on Carlingford Lough and include: a highland gathering, celtic cuisine, currach events parade, concerts, sessions, talks, workshops art exhibitions, storytelling, gaelic sports and much, much more.

The event is presented by the Beyond the Lough Youth Initiative or BTL as its known and aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the area and its links with the music, song, dance and cuisine of the wider Celtic world comprising Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man, Cornwall, Breton, Galicia and Asturias.

So whether it’s a Breton fish barbecue, highland piping, set dancing, kilt making demonstrations don’t forget the Celtic Lough Celtic Arts Festival

Beyond the Lough Youth Initiative is a partnership of Carlingford Community Development and Altnaveigh House, part financed by the European Union’s Programme for Peace & Reconciliation managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by the Cross Border Consortium.
