MUSIC NETWORK ANNOUNCES 2008 SPRING SEASON

Music Network 2008 Spring Season features five nation-wide tours by an outstanding roster of Irish and international artists from Hungary, Italy, Norway, Korea, Czech Republic and the UK. Music Network tours are funded by the Arts Council and are presented in association with The Irish Times and RTÉ lyric fm.

“The season is book ended by two contrasting traditional Irish music tours,” explains Music Network CEO, Deirdre McCrea. “In January fiddler Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, flute player, Catherine McEvoy and concertina player, Micheál Ó Raghallaigh put the zing into spring with their ‘Horsehair, Wind and Reeds’ tour, while in May the combined talents of piper Brian McNamara, harpist Gráinne Hambly and singer Éamon Ó Donnchadha take inspiration from the songs of ancient Ireland in a tour named ‘Tobar an Cheoil’”

Tickets for all regional concerts are available from individual venues around the country. All five Dublin performances will take place in the Coach House, Dublin Castle. Single tickets for all Dublin concerts are €15 (€10 concession for students and over 65s) or €40 for a family ticket, with season tickets available at €65 each (€45 concession) or €160 for a family season ticket.
