Wimborne Minster, Dorset is once again home to the annual folk festival when the town comes alive to the colour and spectacle of dancers, musicians, locals and those who have travelled miles to be part of this fantastic event.

Wimborne Folk Festival is one of the most popular and respected events in the South of England with a reputation for booking some of the best Irish, Scottish & English names on the folk music scene today. This year the amazing Gráda will be headlining the Sunday evening concert with superb singer song writer Boo Hewerdine and young, talented Scottish band Bodega in support. Hugh and Colm Healy from Corofin, Co.Clare will be returning with their band after their stunning performance in 2006 and will be finishing our Saturday evening concert with the incredibly talented Tim Edey, Brendan Power & Lucy Randall and Mike Silver, Johnny Coppin & Jo Partridge and 2008 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners LAU. Friday evening sees Tom McConville, Claire Mann & Aaron Jones headline the concert. These are just some of the many artists appearing over the festival weekend.

From Friday through to late Sunday there are concerts, ceilidhs, dance displays, festival folk club, sessions, workshops (including the very popular Irish Set Dance) and craft & charity street market stalls.
