CELTIC FUSION…STIRRING UP A WHOLE NEW MIX OF MUSIC

www.celticfusion.co.uk

Celtic Fusion returns for the seventh consecutive year, bringing the County Down town of Castlewellan to the forefront of musical diversity for eight days in July. From 13-20 July some of the biggest names in Celtic music from the past and present will perform at the prestigious festival. Festival goers are offered more than ever before with world-class artistes performing at concerts spanning the eight day period. The concerts are focused in bars throughout Castlewellan, providing more intimate venues, so visitors can enjoy an intensified atmosphere and get closer to the festival. In addition to the concerts, the festival will feature a Traditional Music Session Trail featuring up and coming names from the Irish music scene, combined with almost non-stop music over the final weekend in the Festival Bar, Mulhollands.

The highlight of Celtic Fusion is undoubtedly the Headline Concert by Moving Hearts on Sunday 13 July, providing fans with a rare chance to see them perform. The band’s ‘unfinished business’ led their decision to reform and they come together only a few times a year for special performances, bringing their unique sound to new listeners and old friends. Other big names include Cara Dillon, Hothouse Flowers, Michael McGoldrick and Friends, and Beoga who feature in the closing concert on Sunday 20 July. Beoga’s name is lrish for lively and is apt for the band that will offer an energetic finale. Remember, Celtic Fusion offers more than just music, and if drama is your thing, then don’t miss critically acclaimed ‘From the Shoulders Down’ by Richard Lynch on Monday 14 July.

With so many great names featuring in Celtic Fusion, tickets for the festival are sure to sell out fast. Contact the Festival Hotline today to reserve your tickets, telephone +44 (0) 28 4372 2222.
