Hungry Hill is a contemporary Bluegrass unit with a focus on original writing. Based in northwestern Canada, Hungry hill features five seasoned musicians with a desire to create a fresh sound while staying true to the roots of bluegrass and old-time music. Lush vocal harmonies resonate from singers around one microphone in the traditional acoustic Bluegrass setting.  “After hearing their sophomore disc, Ride, this critic has no problem declaring Hungry Hill the best bluegrass band in Canada”. - Barry Hammond, Penguin Eggs 2007.

Event:   THE MULCAHY FAMILY

The Mulcahy Family is a multi-talented group of musicians consisting of Mick, who has been a well-known figure in Irish music for decades, and his two daughters, Louise and Michelle.From Abbeyfeale in County Kerry. Mick learned to play traditional irish accordion from his father and uncles as a child, and he in turn has passed his passion for the music to his daughters, who are both accomplished musicians on a variety of  instruments. Their most recent CD “Notes from the Heart”, described as “a flawless gem”  by The Irish Times newspaper, was released by Clo lar-Chonnachta in 2005, while Michelle was honoured as the ‘2006 Young Musician of the Year’ by TG4.
