Mick Hanly

Mick Hanly is one of Ireland’s finest singer/songwriters and is best known for his song ‘Past the Point of Rescue’ made famous by Hal Ketchum in the USA and Mary Black in Ireland. Mick has been singing and writing since the 1970’s, which included a time as lead singer with “Moving Hearts”.

Mick took the grand prize in both the “folk-singer/songwriter” and “lyrics only” categories. Judges for the competition included Tom Waits, Loretta Lynn and a host of record company executives.

Jimmy Faulkner, one of Ireland’s best loved and most talented musicians, died in March this year. Class guitarist and songwriter Many of his songs have been embraced by the contemporary folk community. Maura O’Connell recorded Half Moon Bay, Western Highway, Shades of Gloria, and The Isle of Malachy. Mary Black recorded The Holy Ground as a title track. Cathie Ryan recorded Shades of Gloria and The Lights of San Francisco. Muireann Nic Amhloaibh has recorded Western Highway and The Isle Of Malachy on her album daybreak: fainne an lae.

Lebowski

Sonny Condell (guitar and vocals), Paul Barrett (keyboards and flugabone), Garvan Gallagher (bass and vocals). An integral part of the Irish music scene since the early `70s, from the heady days with “Tir Na Nog” to the truly fantastic “Scullion” and his current incarnation “Radar”. Greencorn Plantation are a band of ardent medievalists intent on emulating the sounds of late 60’s folk-rock. Come all ye roving minstrels and bide awhile to hear their merry songs of innocence and experience.
