UK Tour October 2008

Following the success of their last UK tour in 2007, husband and wife duo, Zoë Conway and John Mc Intyre are now embarking on another nationwide tour.

Zoë is a prodigious talent from Ireland, equally at home in both traditional Irish and classical styles. Her list of achievements belies her youthful age as Zoë has performed across the globe, and in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world including The National Concert Hall, Dublin; The Kremlin, Russia; and Carnegie Hall, New York. She has performed at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Tonder and Womad and has also performed with international acts, Riverdance, Damien Rice, Rodrigo y Gabriella, Nick Cave, Lou Reed, and Jarvis Cocker to name a few.

She is a holder of the prestigious All-Ireland Senior Fiddle Champion Title, and in 2006 was voted “Best Traditional Female of the Year”. Zoë has played as guest soloist with renowned orchestras including The Irish Chamber Orchestra, The Ulster Orchestra, The RTE Concert Orchestra, Il Gardino Armonico of Italy, and The Symphony Orchestra of Galicia in Spain. For the grand finale of this UK tour, Zoë will perform as guest soloist with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, playing a special Irish programme.

To date, Zoë has released two solo albums, Zoë Conway, produced by Bill Whelan, and The Horse’s Tail, both critically acclaimed, and she recently released a live DVD entitled Zoë Conway Live.

Zoë has been touring with guitarist, John McIntyre for the past two years and the duo has received a tremendous response from audiences across Europe. Their unique mix of Irish traditional, classical and jazz music has enthralled many, and they were recently awarded ‘Best Act 2008’ by the popular music website, Balcony TV.com, getting over 45,000 hits.

John is a member of the well known rock band, The Revs. He has toured worldwide with the band and has performed at international festivals including Oxygen, Slane, Reading and Rockpalast. As a result of playing with The Revs, John was voted “Best Musician of the Year” in a reader’s poll in Ireland’s Hotpress Magazine.

Alongside his ‘rock n roll’ playing, John has a strong background in Irish Traditional music and has also studied classical guitar. As a result, he is increasingly in demand for guitar masterclasses and workshops. John is currently working as a producer in Ireland, and is also recording a solo album, due for European release next year.

For their UK tour, Zoë and John will perform in London, The Isle of Wight, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne, West Bromwich, Hampshire, Leeds and Liverpool.
