RETURN TO CAMDEN TOWN FESTIVAL

Return to Camden Town, the UK’s internationally-renowned festival of
traditional Irish music, song and dance returns to Camden for its tenth
year on Friday 24th October. Featuring more top musicians, artists and
teachers than ever before, the Festival will run for ten action-packed days
until Sunday 2nd November. Some of the top traditional players, singers and
dancers from the UK, Ireland, and the US will entertain and teach in a full
programme of concerts, céilís, workshops, sessions, and lectures for adults
and children at all levels. Full programme is attached.

The Festival will be based at the London Irish Centre, 50-52 Camden Square,
LONDON NW1 9XB, Tel: 020 7916 7272. Full programme information is available
on the festival website at www.returntocamden.org. The free festival
magazine is now available from the London Irish Centre and other
participating venues or can be ordered by contacting the festival hotline:
+44 (0)7871 088121 (P&P will be charged). Tickets will be available for
sale from 12th September from the Festival website and the hotline (nominal
charge on debit and credit card purchases).

There will be 13 one-off workshops for intermediate to advanced players,
some led by highly regarded London Irish/ London based musicians: Bodhran -
Tad Sargent, Traditional Singing - Kathleen O’Sullivan, Tin Whistle -
Hayley Dolan, mandolin - Brian Kelly, concertina - Brid Meaney, Beginners
Uilleann Pipes - John Devine, Introduction to Irish Music for children -
Colette Keaveney and the London Irish Music School and others led by our
visiting musicians: Flute - Peter Horan, Fiddle - Nollaig Casey, Guitar
accompaniment - Arty McGlynn, Banjo - Brian McGrath, Button Accordion -
Damien Mullane, Uilleann Pipes - Paddy Keenan.  We’ve also got a set of 3
day music workshops (morning and afternoon classes concluding with a
performance by students and tutors) lead by John McEvoy (fiddle) and John
Wynne (flute).

As in previous years, there will be free music sessions in local pubs, led
by visiting and London-based musicians, to which all are very welcome.
