Patricia Daly joins musicians and artists from many different nationalities, both male and female, from all over Northern Ireland to create a unique and inspiring fundraising CD.

The CD entitled “She holds half the key” will be launched at a special fundraising concert where they will be performing their music to raise funds for UNIFEM, the United Nations Development Fund for Women.

“We wanted to do something to raise awareness of the plight of women in the developing world and to show how beautiful our world can be when both genders contribute equally and in harmony.” said Inge Haghighi, singer songwriter from Bangor, and the inspiration behind the project.

The concert will take place at the Courtyard Theatre, Ballyearl, Newtownabbey on Saturday 4th October with two performances, a matinee and evening performance.

Inge continued “It will be a wonderful event for the whole family to enjoy, with Celtic, modern, folk, & world music and dance at its best”

Performers will include The Motion Project, a multi-cultural music collective, Mojokelt, one of the hottest rising bands on the folk and roots music scene and well known local harpist Patricia Daly.

“The harp is truly alive and booming in the Ulster area due to the tremendous work of Co Armagh born harp player Patricia Daly”
—quote Irish Music Magazine

All the proceeds of the CD sales and concert tickets will go to UNIFEM’s “Say NO to Violence against Women” Campaign. UNIFEM’s work focuses on 4 strategic goals:

·        Reducing Women’s Poverty and Exclusion
·        Ending Violence Against Women
·        Halting the Spread of HIV/AIDS
·        Achieving Gender Equality in Democratic Governance

“We would love more people to join UNIFEM as members and help support their wonderful projects which change the lives of women and their families around the world.” said Hazel Holmlund chair of the Northern Ireland Branch of UNIFEM UK.
