The Minster town of Wimborne, Dorset is once again home to the annual folk festival when the town comes alive with the colour and spectacle of dancers and musicians tempting locals and visitors, some of whom have travelled miles, to be part of this fantastic weekend.

Since its inception 29 years ago it has been one of the biggest events in Wimborne’s calendar and is one of the most popular and respected folk festivals in the South of England with a reputation for booking some of the best Irish, Scottish & English names on the folk music scene today. Dervish, Michael McGoldrick and his Band, Drever, McCusker & Woomble and Steve Knightley are just some of the fantastic artists appearing over the festival weekend.

From Friday through to late Sunday there are concerts, ceilidhs, dance displays, festival folk club, sessions, workshops (including the very popular Irish Set Dance classes) and craft & charity street market stalls throughout the town. There’s stuff for the kids too and the nearby festival campsite makes it easy to do the whole weekend. Don’t miss it!
