Stirling Galway Sessions

It’s a first, a two week Festival in two cities and two countries exploring the common culture and heritage of Ireland and Scotland and fostering links between two historic cities.

The Festival is a joint venture between Stirling Council and the well established Galway Sessions Festival supported by Galway City Council, Ireland Tourism West/Failte Ireland and Diageo.

The Festival, which will feature musicians, singers, dancers, storytellers, art exhibitions, lectures and street entertainment and will see events taking place in Stirling from 7th to 12th of June with all performers decamping to Galway on 13th June where the Festival will continue until the summer solstice!

Acts taking part include: Fuaim Chonamara with Brian Cunningham and Family; Dessie O’Halloran and John O’Halloran from Inisbofin; Harper Kathleen Loughnane; Piper Fiachra O’Regan; Kinlochard Ceili Band; Tom Doherty; Stirling Pipe Band; Gráda ; Jimmy Crowley; Don Stiffe; Mick Crehan; Big Rory (street entertainer extraordinaire); Storyteller Padraig McNeill; Cran; The Bully Wee Band; Phillip Donnelly; Shaskeen celebrating 40 years. Art exhibitions will include works by Galway artist Jane Talbot and ‘The Men of Bannockburn’.
