September 23rd – 26th, 2010

After the tremendous success of the 2009 Johnny Keenan Banjo Festival, the organisers are in intense negotiations to finalise the line-up for the 2010 event. Last year’s line-up proved to be a magical combination of Irish and American music.

American singer/songwriter, Steve Earle topped the bill and brought much excitement to the town of Longford. Award winning bluegrass band, Blue Highway brought the house down, as did the performances of Lúnasa, We Banjo 3 (featuring Enda Scahill), and Gerry (banjo) O’Connor. The organisers are working hard to not only match but build on last year’s line-up and are confident the 2010 festival will entice even more people to Longford in September.
It is of note that March will mark 10 years since the death of Johnny Keenan and there may be additional activites to commemorate his memory. In the meantime, people can view last year’s photos and find out further info at www.johnnykeenan.com or Tel: 087-2817825.
