Womex is the most important international professional market of world music of every kind and this year’s Expo will take place from October 27th – 31st in Copenhagen, Denmark. Run by the Berlin based Womad organisation, this annual event is one of the biggest showcases for talent on the European World and Folk music circuit, strangely over the past ten years Irish agents and acts have not taken the opportunity to showcase our music at WOMEX.

This year both Music Network and Culture Ireland will be sending delegations, with the music provided by Fidil. At the more experimental end of the Irish music spectrum the Dublin based Improvised Music Company will also be hosting a trade stand.
