Calling all trad musicians and venues in Ireland - you can organise a ‘Trad for Trocaire’ session anywhere!
The second annual ‘Trad for Trocaire’ was launched this week and musicians and venues across the country are being asked to get involved by organising a session for Trocaire from 22-28 September to raise money for Trocaire projects worldwide.
Last year over 400 sessions took place across Ireland and beyond, in Britain, the US and Australia with support from Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. This year Trocaire and Comhaltas are hoping even more people will ‘raise the roof and raise funds’ from September 22nd to 28th.
‘Trad for Trocaire’ is being backed by some of Ireland’s biggest trad stars including Steve Wickham, Moya Brennan, Sharon Shannon and Finbar Furey. To find out how to get involved log on to www.trocaire.org/trad or call 1850 408 408.
