ALL-IRELAND SUCCESS FOR ‘POINT CCE

For the second consecutive year Cavan proved to be an excellent venue for the recent Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2011. As usual a large contingent from Rinn Mhic Giolla Rua CCE were there  not only to support the young Branch competitors but also to enjoy the sessions, gigrigs, camaraderie and general ‘Fleadh atmosphere’.

Chairperson Peter Donnelly on behalf of the committee congratulated all those who had taken part in the competitions. He had a special word of praise for Fleadh veteran Eamon Rooney who took third place in the 15-18 Bodhrán, bringing his All-Ireland medal tally to eight!! He wished him all the best in his musical career.
He also congratulated all the young people on their excellent exam results and wished them good luck for the future.

He praised St Peter’s dancers for their hard work and dedication which resulted in them winning a number of All-Ireland medals and complimented the Fleadh organising committee on an excellent event.

He also mentioned the tutors and parents for their ongoing support which played no small part in this continuing success!

Weekly classes will resume in early October. New pupils, including adults, are very welcome. Watch the local press and the Branch website www.warrenpointcce.com for more info.  Mol an óige.
