PRESENTS

HAYSEED DIXIE
ODDSOCKS REVIVAL
THE BARLEY MOB
& FESTIVAL ARTISTS

The 3 Stage SLIGO LIVE FESTIVAL CLUB rocking the Model is a new concept this year.  This is the Model but not as we know it!  Each night the Club will feature performances on the 3 stages.  It will have a Main Stage in the Black Box with the seats removed and bopping to each night’s headline acts followed by DJ mixes.  A second Acoustic Stage in another room will be hosted by the amazing Billy Fitzgerald and featuring a selection of Festival artists you may have missed at other venues.  The lobby will host The Session Space anchored by Glasgow’s three Friel Sisters, and friends from all over Ireland and Scotland.  All of this will centre around a pop-up bar serving beer and wine at reasonable prices.  Tickets are priced very moderately continuing the Sligo Live tradition of giving good value for money.   The FESTIVAL CLUB will be the meeting place for all Sligo Live Festival Artists at the end of each day with many artists taking to the acoustic stage to perform a few numbers.

3 Stage Festival Club, The Model @ 11.00pm.  Tickets €19.00

Always pushing boundaries in extreme and often absurd ways, Bluegrass Rockers Hayseed Dixie return, full of pith, vinegar and a redneck appetite for destruction.  Having bluegrassed the hell out of AC/DC and Kiss, to name but a couple of mighty desecrated rock institutions, the Appalachian Hell-raisers aim to “drink, cheat, kill and earn our place in hell”.  Hayseed Dixie created the musical genre “Rockgrass” fusing hard rock covers from the likes of AC/DC, Kiss and Motorhead with seriously good Bluegrass picking and harmonies.  Hailing from the Appalachian Mountains of the South-eastern United States, the band consists of Barley Scotch – vocals, guitar and fiddle; Reverend Don Wayne Reno – banjo and vocals; Deacon Dale Reno – mandolin, guitar and vocals, and Jake “Bakesnake” Byers – bass and vocals.  Having sold over 500,000 records worldwide the band has played almost every major European festival, including a Main Stage appearance at Glastonbury.  They perform a mixture of cover versions of hard rock songs and original compositions in a style that is a unique fusion of bluegrass and rock music.  Their set ranges from the Metal bands listed to Queen, The Beatles, and their own original music which is a whole different and very funny take on life.

ODDSOCKS REVIVAL & FESTIVAL ARTISTS:
SAT. 29TH OCT.  3 Stage Festival Club, The Model @ 11.00pm.  Tickets €12.00

Oddsocks Revival is a hard-working four piece funk, rock and blues band, who are no strangers to rock ‘n’ roll.  These Sligo musicians blend classic 70’s music styles with modern tongue-in-cheek lyrics.  Their four lead vocalists and harmonies set them apart.  Twin guitar solos, bombastic bass and hard hitting drums echo Celtic rock legends.   Their highly anticipated debut album ‘It’s Time’ was released last Easter and the band has since been touring extensively in Ireland, the UK and on the continent.  The line-up is Anthony Mannion (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Luke Mercer (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Michael Conefrey (Bass,Vocals) and Eoghan O’Kelly (Drums, Vocals) who were schoolmates.  They built up a repertoire of original music and gained a reputation for playing lively 2 -3 hour sets in the musical cauldron that is Sligo.  After University they turned professional and have been on the road for the past two years.
