This year all the guests are linked by the theme of family, grandsons, brothers & sisters, parents & children, husbands & wives. Guests will perform in concert and join with the wider circle of singers who travel to sing at the various sessions throughout the weekend.

Jeff Warner & John Moulden will cast a thoughtful eye over family connections in their talks. Joining them again will be young singers from colleges across the island of Ireland and from Newcastle, England as part of our bursary scheme.

The weekend will also see Nicholas Carolan launch The Inishowen Song Collection Project – a collaboration between the Inishowen Traditional Singers’ Circle & the Irish Traditional Music Archive.

The ITMA website will give free and open access to recordings, photographs & texts of the songs featured in My parents reared me tenderly, songs collected by Jimmy McBride & Jim MacFarland in Inishowen and published in 1985. Funded by Inishowen Development Partnership this will be the first dedicated digital collection of traditional songs from Inishowen providing a wonderful resource to local singers and those from further afield.
