The Celtic Fusion International Musical Arts Festival 2012 comes early to Castlewellan in County Down, Northern Ireland for its eleventh memorable year. Celtic Fusion will take place over the weekend from Friday 29th June until Sunday 1st July and this year the main event is preceded by Celtic Fusion Showcase on 26th May when Dougie MacLean (Caledonia etc…) makes a welcome return to launch the festival. With Guidewires on Friday 29th June, Sharon Shannon on Saturday and top acts from Canada all day Sunday, Castlewellan gets your summer off to a flying start.

Celtic Fusion celebrates all things Canadian on Sunday July 1st (Canada Day!). Great acts include Andy O’Brien, The Sherman Downey Band, Shelley Chase Childrens Show, Viper Central (Great Bluegrass Music) all FREE in The Upper Square. The Canada Day Concert in The Lodge features all of the above to close the Festival.

For the third successive year, the festival is run by the local community with support from Down District Council and although we encourage everyone to buy a ticket, there is much on offer for free! Traditional music sessions can be enjoyed in Maginns, Mulhollands and also The Kings Inn.

To purchase tickets Tel: 028 4461 2233 or call into the Newcastle Tourist Information Centre or JRs Discount store in Castlewellan. Visit www.celticfusion.co.uk  for details.
