The 14th Gathering Traditional Festival

Toes will be tapping all the way to Killarney for the fourteenth Gathering Traditional Festival which is set to take place at The Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney from February 20th – 24th, 2013.

This festival is firmly established as one of the most popular celebrations of Irish song and dance the world over. It has grown in strength since its inception way back in 1999 and incorporates a finely tuned mix of concerts, céilís, sessions, workshops and masterclasses.

Concerts: The stellar line–up of concerts include performances with Dervish, We Banjo 3 with Enda Scahill, Martin & David Howley, Arty McGlynn, Nolaig Casey, Máire Ní Chathasaigh & Chris Newman, Tim Edey, Brendan Power, Micheal & MacDara Ó’Raghallaigh & Catherine McEvoy. Ceoil Ó Mhúscraí with Nell Ní Chróinín, Eoin Maidchi O’Sulleabhain, Richard Lucey, Fiontain O’Meachair & Conal O’Grada. The Generations Concert with The Mulcahy Family, Billy Clifford, Bryan O’Leary, Niamh Dalton, Gearoid Dineen & guests and A Fistful of Accordians with Jackie Daly, John Brosnan, Con “Fada” O’Drisceoil, Jimmy Doyle, Tim Edey, Mike Kelliher & guests Paul De Grae and Matt Cranitch.

Céilís: The toe-tapping tunes for the ever popular Gathering Céilís will be provided by Uí Bhriain, The Mountain Road Céilí Band, Johnny Reidy, Striolán Ceilí Band and The Five Counties Céilí Band.

Education & Masterclasses: Other highlights include the Schools Outreach Programme, the set–dancing workshops for beginners, advanced dancers and children and the Sean Nós Dancing workshop. The renowned impromptu Gathering sessions will take place throughout the weekend.
