NYAH Festival

The Big NYAH 10th Birthday Co Cavan Traditional Music Festival

The NYAH festival is an event of international standing. Held over two months, it presents more than 600 performers and 100 events with concerts, artists in conversations, sessions, dances, workshops, forums, late sessions, acoustic jams, social dialogue and debate, an entire children’s session, Sean nós workshops, late night cabarets and special events. They have a brilliant Traditional music and Song music scene here in Cavan with events generally marked by a relaxed family friendly atmosphere, fine musicians and singers a plenty. If you have never been to a traditional music festival they highly recommend it as feast for the ears and good for the soul.

Marco Fabbri, who is considered among the best fiddle players in Italy. A Real ‘session man’ Marco Fabbri will be in concert & workshops at the Farnham Arms Hotel as part of the NYAH, Co. Cavan Arts Festival and in sessions throughout the weekend.

NYAH Festival has received financial support under Festivals and Events Scheme from the Arts Council and received Supplementary financial support working towards Ireland holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

To mark this, the Festivals and Events Scheme includes financial support, with additional festival activities and events organized by the applicant in co–operation with colleagues or partners in other European countries.

The NYAH also received funding from The Gathering Ireland, Local Community Fund, Peace III, Cavan Co Council Arts Office, The International Fund for Ireland and Shannon Side Northern Sound Radio.
