Meitheal live webcast from the Guild Hall Derry

The students from Meitheal 2013 will re–unite for a special performance at Fleádh Cheoil na hÉireann in Derry on August 16th, just after Scoil Éigse. Meitheal Orchestra & guests will perform an hour–long webcast the highlights of which will also be broadcast on TG4. The location will be the historic and picturesque Guild Hall.

With the Meitheal Orchestra, the event will feature Martin and Kavan Donohoe, Garry Shannon, Ernestine Healy and more.

There will also be performances by the winning group at Meitheal and some of the winning soloists–as well as interviews with some of the artists.

The following prize–winners at the Derry All–Ireland will receive a half–scholarship to Meitheal 2014 (value ?325).

1st & 2nd in Harp 12–15 and 15–18

1st & 2nd in Uilleann Pipes 12–15 and 15–18

1st & 2nd in Piano–accordeon 12–15, 15–18 and snr.

1st in Button accordeon 12–15 and 15–18

1st in Fiddle 15–18

1st in Flute 15–18

1st in Concertina 15–18

1st in Banjo 15–18

Several scholarships to Meitheal 2014 are available, including to prizewinners in several categories at Fleádh Ceoil na hÉireann.
