20th Catskills Irish Arts Week

July 13th – 19th, 2014

The MJ Quill Sports and Cultural Centre in the Village of East Durham NY is excited to invite you all to join them in celebration of the 20th year of ‘The Catskills Irish Week’.

This year they are honoring the late Felix Dolan and at the Catskills Irish Arts Week we will be gathering over 60 widely acclaimed artists from Ireland, Canada and America, allowing us to offer master–classes in traditional Irish music, song, dance, story, art and crafts.

Mary Bergin, whistle–player extraordinaire from Ireland and indeed no stranger to our week, will join them again this year as will such notables as Jackie Daly, Matt Cranitch, Micheal Tubridy, Catherine McEvoy, our own Billy McComiskey, Brian Conway, Benedict Koehler and Margie Mulvihill, to name but a few of our artists, all of whom they feel honored to have on board.

The dance department is well–represented as is song, with Robbie O’Connell, Aoife Clancy, Kieran Jordan and Padraig McEneany at the helm. Evenings are filled to the brim with first–class concerts, all–in full–on céilí dances and action–packed pub sessions.

The organisers rely on the children to continue these traditions, and therefore have paid particular attention to the Tír na nÓg Children’s program, offering the same high standard of teaching as in the adult programs while being mindful of the unique and fun week that is in it.

Visit online at for new surprises. The website features Online Registration. Free admission to a very special VIP concert together with free entry to the East Durham Trad Fest on Saturday July 19th is offered to all who register by March 1st. They also offer non–student packages to  concerts, céilí dances, lectures and sessions. This is a world–class event and the organisers would like to thank all those over the years who helped make it so; they look forward to seeing you all in July.
