Gig’n the Bann Festival, Portglenone, Co.Antri

The Portglenone Cross Cultural Music and Dance Festival is recognised as one of the premier and much anticipated events on the festival calendar. 2015 will mark the 16th anniversary of the festival, testament to its reputation for offering a highly impressive line–up of top performers spanning Traditional, Scottish, Gospel and Folk Music circles.

Many world renowned performers from the Irish traditional and Ulster Scots traditions have entertained the appreciative audiences who make the annual trip to Portglenone. Artists such as Sharon Shannon; Dervish; Lúnasa; Guidewires; The Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band; St. Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band and Cullybackey Pipe Band to name but a few have graced the stage in the historic venue at the Wild Duck Inn.

The 2015 festival has a superb line–up which includes The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Phil Coulter, The Illegals with Niamh Kavanagh, Breaking Trad and Catherine Grimley. Visitors will be spoilt for choice with the outstanding programme of events that the festival has to offer.

So whether you want to join a session or listen to the sound of the pipes and drums or attend one of the concerts or other events over the course of the weekend I’m sure you will agree there is something for everyone!
