ESB LIVE 2016 at the National Concert Hall celebrates great song-writers with an exclusive concert by Paul Brady on May 24th followed by an all-star tribute to the great Ewan MacColl on October 11th, featuring Declan O’Rourke, Peggy Seeger, Eliza Carthy and Martin Carthy.

Paul Brady is one of Ireland’s most highly regarded and successful artists. Recipient of the 2015 National Concert Hall Lifetime Achievement Award, he returns to the Hall on May 24th at 8pm with this special show, performing songs from his extensive back catalogue of 40 years.

A prolific artist, Ewan MacColl is best remembered for his unapologetically political folk songs. In this special concert on October 11th at 8pm his sons Callum and Neill MacColl and singers including his wife Peggy Seeger, Martin Carthy, Eliza Carthy, Chaim Tannenbaum and Declan O’Rourke present new arrangements of his music, offering a chance to hear his beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics expanded by a host of voices and instruments.

Commenting on the announcement, ESB Chief Executive Pat O’Doherty said: “ESB is very proud of our long association with the National Concert Hall and we are particularly delighted to present ESB Live 2016; a series of concerts which showcase Ireland’s truly vibrant music scene. I really believe that supporting Irish art and culture today is helping to ensure a brighter tomorrow.”

Tickets for both concerts from €35, available from the National Concert Hall Box Office: Telephone 01-417 0000 or visit www.nch.ie
