Pavilion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire - Rathdown’s Municipal Theatre today announced TRADITION:DL, Dun Laoghaire’s inaugural festival of Traditional Music.

Announcing the exciting line-up, Pavilion’s Director Martin Murphy said “We in the Pavilion are delighted to be able to bring together exciting talents of the like of Mairtin O’Connor & Frankie Gavin, Slide, Caoimhe Hegarty and the musicians from the Tap Room Trio all in Dun Laoghaire’s very own Festival of Traditional Music. Pack up that ol’ bouzouki and get on down to Marine Road on August 3,4,5 for a “ceol-tastic” weekend at TRADITION:DL

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the audience is invited to spend time in the Pavilion Theatre and their new neighbour THE GastroPUB, as they bring to Dun Laoghaire the very best performers on the Irish Traditional Music scene in a feast of “ceol agus…more ceol” from Friday to Sunday.

If “music is what feelings sound like” then audiences will hear some of the purest and most delicate feelings, along with feet tapping rhythms from the likes of Máirtín O’Connor and Frankie Gavin, Róisín Elsafty, Siobhan Armstrong, Harry Bradley, Slide, as well as a whole host of the most exciting “trad” talent around. So sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, and give your ears a treat. And if you bring your instrument join in with the superb session musicians in THE GastroPUB and celebrate the very first TRADITION:DL Festival.
