NORTH SOUTH CONCERT WITH PHIL COULTER

www.ulsterhall.co.uk

A major musical concert is being staged at the Ulster Hall in Belfast on Saturday 26th November, 2011, featuring Phil Coulter and special guests the Cross Border Youth Orchestra of Ireland, Una Hunt, Kintra and Liam O’Connor. This special musical concert is to mark over thirty years of north south co-operation by the Downpatrick and Listowel Linkage Group.
www.ulsterhall.co.uk
Since 1982 the Downpatrick and Listowel Linkage Group has engaged many thousands of people of all ages and from many walks of life in cross-community/cross-border exchanges, promoting social, cultural, educational and economic links. It encourages participants and the wider community to identify areas of common interest and uses these as a means of addressing the barriers that exist between North and South. Today the group is the longest running and most successful north south co-operation body in existence and its work continues to be of relevance as it was in 1982.
Coulter enjoyed his greatest success as a writer after teaming up with collaborator Bill Martin; together they wrote some of the biggest pop hits of the period, including Sandie Shaw’s Eurovision-winning Puppet on a String and Cliff Richard’s Congratulations.
Other performers on the evening include one of Ireland’s leading pianists, Una Hunt, accordion player, Liam O’Connor, the Cross Border Youth Orchestra of Ireland and Kintra, a traditional group who appeal to lovers of Irish and Scottish music, song and dance.
The Ulster Bank, Ulster Scots Agency and Foras na Gaeilge are proud sponsors of the concert.

Tickets for this event are available from the Ulster Hall Box Office, Telephone: 028 9033 4455 or check out the website www.ulsterhall.co.uk
