Blas International Summer School of Irish Traditional Music and Dance
is an internationally accredited summer school hosted annually by the
Irish World Academy of Music and Dance and is set on the magnificent
campus at the University of Limerick. Now in its 13th year, Blas 2009
will run from Monday, June 22nd through Friday, July 3rd.

Blas is a two-week intensive music, song and dance programme offered
by the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. This combines the
familiar concept of master classes in instrument/voice specific
technique and repertoire, as found in many summer schools, but with
small class sizes and the unparalleled level of student interaction
with tutors that this can offer.

22nd FEAKLE TRADITIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

The 22nd Annual Feakle Festival will take place from Wednesday 5th August – Tuesday 11th. As per other years the festival will be action packed with many varied and interesting cultural events. It will commence on Wednesday 5th with a “Celebration of Dance” being the theme.

‘The Reel Deal’ is an upbeat traditional music series with a contemporary twist.  It is a lively, dynamic series for young people, featuring young performers and fronted by three engaging presenters. It is presented by Aoibhinn Ní Shuilleabhan, Brian O’Connell and Bláthnaid Ní Dhonnchadha, who all share an interest in, and passion for traditional music.
