The Seaview Sessions, live music, upstairs @ The Punchbowl, Booterstown, County Dubin

I saw Luka Bloom perform one evening in a small venue, candlelit, lovely atmosphere and a week later I saw John Spillane do exactly the same.

I sing myself for groups of American tourists that visit The Punchbowl, in an upstairs, old world, kitchen feel, front room kind of vibe of a room, and while singing, I thought that the room would make a great little intimate venue suitable for gigs for up to approx 70- 80 people. (more…)

Eleanor McEvoy Appointed New Chairperson of IMRO

The Board of The Irish Music Rights Organisation CLG (IMRO) is pleased to announce that the renowned singer/songwriter Eleanor McEvoy has been appointed to the position of Chairperson of IMRO. McEvoy replaces composer and saxophonist Keith Donald, who has held the position since 2008. (more…)

Tønder Festival Full Programme …

The final names have been added to this year’s Tønder Festival line-up. Among them are Beoga from Ireland, Darlingside from USA and Frigg from Finland. And Niels Hausgaard, of course. The final programme is ready, and so is the Tønder Festival app.

Booking is complete and this year’s Tønder Festival programme has exciting music for all tastes. Among the latest names are the Irish band Beoga, who have worked closely with Ed Sheeran, and the critically-acclaimed American band Darlingside.

Leading Irish musicians take to stage to support Irish visit of Cuban uilleann piping sensations

Wonderful line-up of leading artists at Dublin’s Grand Social on June 1 as Irish pipes continue to take hold in Cuba

A concert featuring Ireland’s leading traditional musicians will be held in Dublin’s Grand Social venue on Thursday June 1 to support a visit to Ireland next month of Cuban uilleann pipers Alexander Suarez Mendez and Rosalia Acosta Corrales.
